Re: Power Window Project DIY 64-66 TRUCK

So I'm just wondering on this topic, I see that this seems to work really well and can be done and saves money, but Has anyone ever looked at using the 80's square body power window regulators for these trucks? Just curious since they are similar sure there are some differences but wondering if they would be a fit and replacement for these trucks?

If anyone knows let me know.

In my option, not even close. The mount is a 4 bolt system and at wrong points.

The concept here was to use the actual regulators for the correct truck, simply add a motor to them.

MOTOR with correct tooth pitch (GMC Safari model):

Spacer that must be used for mounting motor above. The motor that comes with spacer will NOT WORK, wrong pitch teeth. WE ONLY WANT THE SPACER THAT COMES WITH THIS MOTOR. Give motor to your square body friends…

Manual Regulator that will be used. NOTE: YOU will need both Right and Left side versions, which are different:

Motor Pigtail wiring:

Power window RETRO handle control- this one takes some effort to install and is very generic, not 64-66 friendly, but will work. QUITE EXPENSIVE!!! (ANYONE THAT FINDS A BETTER RETRO SWITCH OPTION, PLEASE POST!)
