Question 1-ton vs. 3/4-ton suspension interchangeability

I'm using an '82 Chevy Silverado CrewCab 1-ton dually chassis with camper package for a custom project (in the link below). I don't believe I'll be needing the added weight capability of the 1-ton, so I was wondering if I could swap in springs from a 3/4-ton for a better ride. Do the 3/4-ton and 1/2-ton springs have the same dimensions as the 1-ton springs?

How about the front springs? The Chevy came with a 6.2L diesel, so the front springs should be heavy-duty to support the weight of all the accessories and extra battery, but I'm thinking they'll be too stiff for my project, so will springs from a smaller truck swap in?

Thanks for any input!

Keith

There are two differ size leafs. One is 52" and one is 56" about the best thing that I could suggest to you is go to a junk yard and measure.... then measure again.... then when you think you figure out what might work then measure again. lol Try to stay with or go to the 56" the longer the smoother. as for the front springs the diesel does have HD springs so you could go to a regular stock spring.
