LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Tug boat?

My custom-built 96" Evo motor by Frank at S&S in '03.

Name: IMG_1034.jpg
Views: 403

Notice missing screw on timing cover and filter on the breather missing? Just got back from a long ride. That thumpin' stroker has the shakes! Solid mounts don't help. I have splits in both fenders and that's how the tail lamp mounts broke off and it beat the tar out of my black cherry with ghost flames paint job... hence the black paint now. I can now repair and paint parts individually

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

HO455 I think you need to post some video. Theres nothing like the sound of a Detroit.

Heres another one of mine. 11L Daewoo headed for the scrap pile. The piece in the 2nd picture is the water pump and a large chunk of the front cover. Not sure what happened because the pump still turns but something caused the front of the engine to basically explode. It still runs, just has a small oil leak and no water pump.

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

This my be pushing the limit of an engine pic but its the best I can do for this engine. Its a Cat C27 in a chipper. 27 L V12 1050Hp and 3500lb-ft This would be cool if there was a way to stuff it under the hood of my C30, fuel mileage might not be that great though.

Not too shabby! I have some cool antique engine pictures from yesterday when I was in your area, Rob. I rode with a friend to the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles for their open hood day. WOW! I just got the camera but need the correct USB!

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

Yeah I know. My friend was at the helm. I was going to drop you a note earlier in the week, but I figured it could be frustrating the way he is. He's real "zippy" plus had plans for when we got back to MD to hit a bluegrass jam night at an American Legion post down by Annapolis! A real globetrotter day for me, then back out to my place in the foothills. Crazy long day, but very nice. I'll have to come on my own.

I think the first one is a cycle car that mostly went to Japan. Second one is an early Autocar engine.

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

Somehow I missed this one. Definitely my kind of thread. Lots of cool stuff to see here.
I have enough industrial pics to keep this thread going for quite a good while. I’ll start with these.
Every good engine needs a strong foundation. First up is my iron 6.0 Chevy block that I’m gathering parts to build a 402(LS) stroker with. It’s prepped and ready for assembly when I get the parts together. Should be north of 500 HP when I’m done with it.

Second…. A true dinosaur. That’s an 817G (natural gas) Waukesha. 817 cubes of Looong stroke slow revving stupid high torque. They used gasoline and diesel variants of these in fire trucks and semi’s back in the day.

It's an oldie but a goodie. I stumbled on it searching for something else. Plenty of variety when it comes to engines.

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

I always thought that belt was odd myself. But I don't recall hearing of any issues with them. My dad had a Corvair for a while when I first started driving. also, the first person I met who did nut & bolt restorations was a friend's dad who restored Corvairs in the '70s. that's where I caught the bug, just knowing people are out there doing it (and seeing it). Good old Waldo Davis. He kept his parts car stash out at this junkyard in one corner. He gave me an engine to swap into my '66 VW Bus, but it never happened.

I started a picture thread on Corvairs way back when I did this thread. All sorts of engine, Corvair, and Corvair powered vehicle pictures

Not the best location for the air intake. But the spark plugs look pretty easy to get at.

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

Have you posted a pic of a Tucker engine? It's not much to look at but the original engine was to be a 589ci flat six but a smaller version was used in the 48 cars Preston built. The original helicopter engine he used was air cooled but Preston made them water cooled for durability.

Re: Pics Thread:A Motor A Day

Those would be some big jugs! I don't think a Tucker engine has been shown. Lately I get a video suggestion on some never fired Tucker engine but haven't watched it yet.

Back to those Corvair engines, that third one is a custom overhead cam version.

The fourth one is a drag race engine built to 380 hp, 2 hp per cubic inch.

Ha Ha! Where are the foot pegs, or brakes for that matter? I'd be cutting those peddles off since all they're good for is slapping your legs to death

How about this one-lunger? CZ 360
