Lowering an '05 Sierra

I recently acquired an '05 Sierra, bottom of the line except that it has 4WD. I think the rear is WAY too high off the ground and wanted to lower it a smidge, nothing crazy. Can I just remove the factory lift blocks or will I need to put angled shims in there to retain the pinion angle?
What about the front? Again, I don't want anythiing wild, I just don't think the frame needs to be on display for everyone to see.

Thanks.
