Rear brakes on a 51 3600

Where can I get rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders for my 3600? I have tried classic parts and LMC no luck. Thanks for any input

Jim Carters handles parts for the Huck brakes.

Have you looked around to have your shoes relined?

Thanks,I did find somebody to reline the shoes for me. I dont understand why you can't get new rear shoes but you can on the front ones.

It's probably because the fronts have more applications than the rear, maybe more years or something like that.

The fronts fit more trucks 3100, 3600, some 3800 fronts 1-3/4". The HD rears are usually 12 x 2 or 14"x2.5" and only fit trucks 3600 and 3800 rear for a narrow band of years. Its very common for larger shoes to be relined only. I suspect it also comes down to available cores to reline.

I got the shoes reclined and now I cant get the drums on. They will go if I hammer them on but that seems to be to tight

from what I remember of relining shoes back on the 60's we had to shape the relines on a shoe grinder so they would fit the drum arc. You may need to bring the shoes and drums to the re-liner for then to shape the shoes

Yep, called "contour grinding." Find a big truck shop that relines brakes. They can usually do it.
