Alternate fuel tank options
Not sure if this is the place for this post so feel free to move if not.
I am looking for a bed mounted fuel tank that I can replace my dual tank setup in my 84 CC Dually. I need something that will be legal though. I did some looking and it doesn't seem like fuel cells are legal! What are you guys doing for alt tank options? Thanks Jim Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Alternate fuel tank options
The lack of response makes me think there aren't many options?

I have seen several aux tank setups but my thought was to replace both of my factory tanks with one tank in the bed This setup seems to be illegal. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Alternate fuel tank options
Why do you say it's illegal, is it your state? Their website indicates they meet federal guidlines?

Re: Alternate fuel tank options
I'm not an expert on the subject. But I would think that as long as the new tank doesn't increase the fuel carrying capacity of your truck, and the tank is made by an approved tank MFG, then it should be good. Although I don't know if the fuel capacity rule applies to your size and year of truck. I do know that in medium/heavy trucks, you are not supposed to increase the fuel capacity from what the truck had from the factory.
