My Restoration Begins on a 1969 k5

ok i know i been asking a lot of questions about where and how to mount a 2wd suspension on my 4x4 frame, i just want to really be sure before i start drilling

but yeaha ok so after alot of measurements i was about to find one pre-existent common holes on the 4x4 frame, heres some pictures, can some one let me know if im in the right direction, before i start drilling the rest of the holes

ok the next concern i have is that i mounted the cross member the holds the trailing arms, but the axle goes behind the orginel bump stop on the 4x4 frame. i want to kno if this is normal

You may be in the correct place. but ..measure 10 times drill once. Go back to the 2wd spec drawing. measurements are from ctr radiator support. I subtracted 16.50 off the 38.40 and I got 21.90 or 21 7/8 " ctr front axle to ctr radiator support. From there check ctr front axle to ctr rear axle 104" good luck

Its been a while since i messed with my truck, kinda got distracted but its koo im back and im goin at it harder then ever, instead of a restoration im goin for a full out custom blazer with corvette suspension all the way around with porter front cross memeber , shaved all the way around,for ever convertible, with a 572 motor maybe, more to come here are some pictures to keep yall updated

bought some corvette sawblades for when i install the corvette suspension got em for $100 with tire

had to get the chasis rolling and ready for sandblast n primer soon

this is how the doors look after installed after the welding to the body was done, i think the gap isnt big enough n the body line is kinda off alil bit...

That doesn't look too bad, can you adjust it out? How is the gap at the top of the door and windshield frame? Enough room to swing the door up any?

i Got bored so i took a wire wheel to my frame to try n clean it up a bit and sprayed it with an all porpuse paint flate black for now

the only problem i have now is how im i gunna do the inside of the frame lol
the out side was fairly easy, i dont know about the inside, does any one have any tips?

i also painted the side of the truck to better see the inperfections, i dont know if you can tell but one of my main concerns i have is that the rocker panel and doors dont line up when the door is close, which makes me believe that the cab was welded off to the right n not leveled, idk, i also think it may be the door, its not in the best of shape or even straight at the bottom, or i was also thinking that maybe the rocker panels were welded to close idk

had a little time yesterday so i mounted the body on to the frame to see if the 2wd conversion was done correctly,

as u can see in the front is shows the tire being to far back and in the rear it shows the wheel to forward,

im just wondering if thats normal or so i have to re-do it , im not to concern aboy the rear im more concern in the front can some one jump in an let me know thanks

I just took my body off & I did not use any supports.......everything went fine. Now are we suggesting that the body can get tweeked and sit funny on frame when placed back on frame if not supported. This looks like a safe removal right.....

me personality i dont think it would affect the shape of the tub. as long as ur not addin stress to it or have it unleveled

An unexpected turn of events has come up n my project is off to the scrap yard in the next week or so maybe later on I'll find a much easier project to start out from, don't get
Me wrong I was up for a challenge but now I have to move outta state n can't take it with me

please dont scrap that tub! that is SOOOOOO much better than mine! wonder how much it would cost to ship that to Iowa.... i mean heck, my doors are welded in anyway....
