Re: The Wallet Eater getting new shoes

Thanks, all. I'm not actually feeling it yet... but I obviously have to give it some time. I've been looking at the old wheels for a looooooonnnnnng time.

Also, it looks like I need to trim the fenders a little since this tire is about 0.25" taller than the last one. Those who've seen details on the inside of my fenders know that the sheetmetal has been heavily worked along the wheel opening... it's not just sawn off. However... it looks like I'll be 'sawing off' for now.

While I'm cutting, I need to work out those pie cuts in the back end of the rear fenders, work on planned hood sheetmetal mods, and then start blocking for eventual paint.

Re: The Wallet Eater getting new shoes

I'm going to cut the inside of the fender tomorrow to get some more clearance for the fronts. For the long-term, I think I need to make another trip back to rokcrln's place for some major mods to the hood/fender area.

You might be in luck and the drive might be getting closer if the deal we are trying to work out goes through on the new property

Re: The Wallet Eater getting new shoes

I had a the same set of Eagle wheels on a '72 a few years ago and was disappointed to find out the "push in" style caps were not longer available from Eagle.

Re: The Wallet Eater getting new shoes

my suggestion... ignore this thread. I have had a complaint from the OP due to staff replying to it. Instead of replying etc, he chose to PM and report the post. IMHO that shows no interest in this thread anymore, and no reason for folks to comment upon it. Tis a shame...
