weatherstripping

Hello, I am hoping someone can answer a question regarding weatherstripping/welting for a 1952 chevy 3100. Is there anything that goes between the hood and front fender? and i have learned that the welting between rear fenders and box, is optional?...Please share your thoughts!!

Re: weatherstripping

i think it had rubber bumpers between the hood and fenders. It used welting between the hood and cowl. I think the rear fenders didn't have welting from the factory.

Re: weatherstripping

Thank you. I found the rubber bumper kit. 10 pce in total. For the rear fender welting....I see that factory didn't have any for the years 47-53, or at least was optional. I am wondering what some of your thoughts are?...My thought is putting some in to prevent squeeks and moisture from accumulating?

Re: weatherstripping

The rear fenders I have always mounted without welting because it actually will hold moisture. If it is tight it shouldn't squeak and if its painted there shouldn't be a problem with rust.
