Bought this 59 Viking 60 LCF this weekend....

Original paint but it is disassembled right now....probably touch up the 3 rust spots on it and put the body on something cool......

It's already cool, but I'm anxious to see what you do with it. I know you will make it even cooler.

Looks really solid. Was it stored inside and used in good weather?

^^^ This is TRUE!

This old gal NEEDS to be lengthened enough to put a long bed on her. A 9-1/2’ - they’re out there to be given away they’re so long but would be perfect on this girl. I’d drop it low and put Alcoa’s on her. In my mind’s eye kinda sorta reminds me of a little newer version of this photo.

Re: scored another one

That truck is what we called a Shack Shaker in Texas. Shortened up to pull mobile homes with. Beyond rough riding when they didn't have a load on them.

Sure looks like a great cab and nose for a project though.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

It was used until 1978 and sat in a building until 2008 then was sold and has sat inside a building in pieces since then. I have never seen one this solid.

I think I am going to put in on another LCF chassis that I have and transfer the tilt bed off of my wrecker. The body is shot on the wrecker and the frame is pretty beat so it will become a donor. I have a set of Dayton air brake axles from a 58 that I am going to put under it. I do not think I will paint it but who knows. Depends on how hard it will be to get the trailer sales painted on lettering off with out destroying the pain under it. I would keep the lettering but it really wont go with a wrecker.

The guy I bought it off was going to do something like Big Bertha with it. Everything was taken apart, labeled, and put away so it would not get scratched. I brought the front clip home and hung all the pieces on the wall of my garage about 10 feet up so they would be safe until I put it back together. Going back for the rest in a couple weeks. It was a local mobile home trotter. The doors are the same as Big Bertha. The reason he sold it to me is because he knows of Big Bertha and want it to go to someone who would not make it into something cool. I tried to buy it years ago when I started on Big Bertha. I wanted a 4 eyed big truck

Re: scored another one

Excellent condition. ESPECIALLY being from PA.
We call em' Toters down here.
For obvious reasons, very little "toting" was done in bad weather which might explain the great (corrosion) condition.
Although, the hillbilly drivers here were bad to beat up every corner.
Could you imagine flipping this thing on the highway ?
It would roll like a basketball.
Just as a novelty, imagine locking the steering straight ahead, run the wheels hydraulically like a skid steer ..... then a rubber track on it.
Would be a beauty at the mud bogs.
Cool truck, thanks for posting it.
