M/T Sportsman S/R
For anyone running these tires how are they? Rainy/wet weather? expected miles before replacement? I'm going to run the 29x15x15s for now on a 12" rim and when I do get my 20" "street" tire/wheel combo later on I will be running the 29x15x20. I figured they will last longer than a drag radial on the street.

The MT Sportsmans are a hard as nails street tire. Not a soft compound like the Sportsman Pro's. The 33x22.50-15's I ran while building the truck were like a big-ass squeege in the rain. It would roll water up infront of the tire then hydroplane over it. NOT a good rainy day tire. When I took the truck off the street and made it a track only toy,,, kept the MT's around on a spare set of rims just for the burnout contests at the Truckin Nationals.

I just did my taxes and reviewed my SS statement. Thanks to the current administration it looks like I will only have to work till noon on the day of my funeral. |

My truck will see lots of street miles so I want something that will last longer. When I do go to the strip I will run MT drag radials or something similar. i just don't want to run my strip tires on the street

i got the 29x18x20's, they are still to be mounted, i heard they really dont hook well. I researched and couldnt find a tire big enough for 20x15 wheels, they do look awful pretty though

These will only be my street tire, no strip for these. I'll have some 325/50 drag radials for the strip

meh I roll on 325 M/T DOT street's in all conditions. I'm accustomed to being called crazy but I have about 12k miles on them as a street tire, inflated to about 36psi. I put them on while I was getting new rears mounted, but ended up running em for like 3 years now.
In the dry they are great; in the moist, still pretty great. In the wet...well you just shouldn't have the truck out in the wet....but I have and it's just fine as long as you know your vehicle. Sudden turns/stops feel a bit like snow if the oilly film is on the road. I have really good front brakes and all season front tires, which helps. The reality is with nearly 500hp and no traction devices, having a soft and wide tire minimizes "accidental" squealing and....it just looks cool. In my case 15" DOT streets are actually CHEAPER than many regular 17" tires...so my cult of 15" drag tires grows slowly.

Sorry for the quality, my wife recorded with a potato. 29x15x15 here. I'm only on 5-6lbs of boost and I can get loose nailing it at 60mph.
