Windstar 2 Speed Fan Pig Tail

Anyone know the part number for the big fan pig tail with 3 wires on the Windstar dual fans? The one I got only had 2 and the middle, high speed, is blocked and I can't pin it to wire the 2nd speed. I think I found one at O'reilly's locally but would prefer other options as this cost as much as the fan did at the junk yard... Thanks.

I am not familiar with your Fans but to the best of my knowledge each fan will have a ground wire and a hot wire The ECM has fan one and fan too in order to have high speed low-speed you need three relays fan 1 for low-speed both fans are wired in series to give you 6 V for low speed When fan 2 comes on you get 12 V to both fans if you search back to the previous page there was a thread On this very subject with wiring diagram Hope it helps

Re: Windstar 2 Speed Fan Pig Tail

The 3 wire connect is Standard Motor Products HP4540, $6 on Rock Auto. I was never able to find the 2 wire one for the other fan and just used spade connectors.

You can buy waterproof pigtails on amazon for cheap. I did this for the fuel pump because I couldn’t find the other half of the connector. For the fan I just used spades like cebra but I would like a waterproof connector on it when I have some time to work on it.

Re: Windstar 2 Speed Fan Pig Tail

Thanks for the help... I found that standard motors product, but a different one for $15. I decided I'd find a spade that fit and pin the existing one myself given I paid $38 for the fan, shroud, etc. I had a hard time dropping much more just for one wire. I just got some wire same gauge as the rest of the stock harness and soldered a spade connector on it, pinned and silicone'd it to the existing pig tail. Local parts stores wanted $36 for the same thing!
