Re: 4x4 69.

If you found a 72 frame for $200, you CAN swap your body and everything directly to that frame. Easy-Peasy.

The AXLES from a 73-87 will bolt to the springs on your frame, but the SPRINGS will not interchange.

The 4x4 FRAME parts will interchange for the most part from 69-72 without ANY issue. I did not include 67-68 in that because there are subtle differences in the frames on those. However, you body WILL bolt directly to those frames as well, but you may have some small issues of things lining up like parking brake cables, or linkages.

Good Luck!

My son is building a 1970 GMC K2500 and he is 17. We've been working on it for about 8 months now.

Front square body axles do bolt up. Only srw one ton 73-87 rear axles bolt up to the 67-72 4x4s and you'll have to move shock mounts on the axle. The non one ton axles will fit width wise but the perches are not in the right spot.
If you found a real 4x4 frame for 200 JUMP ON IT NOW! That's really cheap and they are getting pretty hard to find.

You'll get there just keep working and saving!
