Bench seats and seatbelts...

Anyone added a third seatbelt in the center? My wife was asking me about that, and I started thinking about adding one. It'd be nice to figure out an easy way to do it.

I used the ones that I got with my seat (88 model C1500) they share the bolt mountings with the outer belts. Works great with my seat. Getting ready to swap that group out for a differenct set of belts and seat from a 93 model C1500.

I had to buy some grade 8 bolts because the stock bolts have a thicker upper shank that didn't go through the mouunting hole, while a standard bolt works fine.

GM made center seatbelts for our trucks. I'm not sure though what year they started doing this - My '71 has them. They use the same bolts as the inner driver and passenger seatbelts.

I've been running a '98 chevy bench with shoulder harnesses and a center belt. I took the 'tag' ends (the end with the receiver) and both center straps to an upholstry shop after cutting them to length and had them sewn on using industrial sewing machine and heavy thread. Fit through the the seatbelt holes perfectly. I shortened them because they were long enough to work with an original bench between the seat and back.
