Few pics from the GNRS 2017

So went out to Pomona for the Grand National Roadster Show, snapped a few pics of some trucks.

If you didnt follow Speedways week to wicked build online, this is the truck.

Well photobucket is acting all screwed up at the moment. I will post the rest of the pics when its done locking up.

They removed one of the front slats of he grill and reworked the front bumper in and up a little.

Very unique design of the wood bed, opened like shutter blinds and hinged in the center.

Nice trucks, the color on the maroon one is just about what I have been wanting for mine.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Beautiful trucks, especially the maroon one. Nothing like looking into an engine compartment and seeing a carburetor still. Not a huge fan of yellow, but that sure looks great. I like the taillights in the last truck as well.

A little hard to see in that photo but I'm pretty sure that's not a carburetor. It's a throttle body because it looks like you can see the dirver's side fuel rail.
I'm doing the same on the 2011 LQ4 going into my '55.2.

You can see it in this picture, but of course the fuel rails are NOT installed yet:

Re: Few pics from the GNRS 2017

I love the yellow one. The others......I don't get at all, not on any level. A 40 Ford steering wheel? Really?

Those headlights have GOT TO GO, please everyone, boycott any use of those headlamps!

Re: Few pics from the GNRS 2017

Never have been a fan of those headlight kits. I think that is where the "everyone does it so it's cool even if it looks wrong" line of thinking comes in.

I'd have to wonder why on the Ford wheel too but there may be a story behind it as with some odd parts that get used in builds.
I just really like the color because it looks like what you might see if you held up a glass of good dark red wine and that is what I am going for. I've spent a lot of hours chasing the just right color.

Re: Few pics from the GNRS 2017

The green one has been around unchanged for a number of years. Well past the X number of years one can show in ISCA shows without making changes and updates. It may have been in one of the other buildings where that doesn't count though and you are only competing with the other rigs in that building or are display only and not judged except maybe for a club pick or building pick. I saw it at Portland a few years ago and it has great workmanship all around but a real love it or leave it style to it.
