Being I bought my truck when I was 15, you can understand what the Dream Truck means to me. These photos just knocked me out! Dean Jefferies stripping the "Dream Truck."

For those of you who don't know what the "Dream Truck" is you should be ashamed of yourself.

When I got my truck in '73 there were exactly two chopped AD trucks EVER (that got any attention in the magazines) they were the Dream Truck and another, a 3/4 ton truck but I can't find a photo of it right now. That was it, that was my inspiration, these two trucks. There was very, very few of them ever hotrodded. The Ford F-100 and F-1 they were WAY more popular, the Chevys were still just "trucks". In '74 I used the Rod and Custom magazine showing the Dream Truck being chopped as a guide line for chopping mine. So seeing photos such as these are a real kick for me.

A little known fact on that truck is that it has never been shown in competition. It's been in plenty of shows but always as display only.

I got to spend a lot of time around it at the Chevy GMC Truckin Nationals in Ogden Utah in 1982 when I showed my truck there.

Love the 58-59 influence in the grill and headlights. Desoto or Chrysler fins??

I believe that the fins and quarter panels were hand made. The truck morphed through several changes and a couple of paint jobs in the late 50's and then was totaled in a towing accident and got stashed away for a lot of years before the gent that restored it (had it restored) chased it down and bought it.

My brother did the carburation on it when it was rebuilt in the late Seventies.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
