Proud New Member of the Sub Club!!

I just picked this up on Sunday. I've got a lot of work to do to it. I traded my '68 longwide for it. It's a roller, but the 327 from the '68 is going in along with a 700r4. I'm hoping to make a family hauler out of it.

I hate to see my V8 S10 go, but I'm trying to talk myself into selling it to get the Suburban on the road. I'm planning on replacing the quarters on it and having the back tailgate/hatch repaired. I'm going to have to replace all of the window regulators, but it shouldn't take to much to get it on the road. Let me know what you think, and thanks for having me.

Congradulations and welcome to the world of Burb. Looks like a nice project. I like your choice of drivetrain. Just curious as to what rear gears you plan on running?

Re: Proud New Member of the Sub Club!!

I don't know what's in the rear right now, but if I had to choose, I'll go with 3.73's, maybe 3.42's. I've got 3.73's in my S10 right now, and I was happy with them with the 700r4 in it, I'm not happy with the RPM's now that I have a th350 in it.

Re: Proud New Member of the Sub Club!!

Thanks guys. Yeah, I hate to see the S10 go, but it'll be nice to enjoy my vehicle with the whole family.

Quick question, are the motor mounts the same on these for a BBC as well as a SBC??

Re: Proud New Member of the Sub Club!!

BBC frame stands and the rubber mounts are different. (as are the 6 cylinder mounts)

Alrighty, I may have run across a 454 from my brother, I'll be looking for some different motor mounts as well. Thank you.

Re: Proud New Member of the Sub Club!!

My burban is a 70 model. i'll probably put a 67 front end on it, and shave the sidemarkers on the back. As far as the mounts are concerned, it helps!! I'll be keeping an eye out for some. If not, I got a 350 that'll sit in there nicely.
