OOO I'm jealous. You got your truck over a year after I got mine and you already have the LS in it. Good choice on engine setup. Please keep us posted. I was gonna do one big turbo on a 6.0 LS for the 57. It would be nice to hear what hiccups you run in to. You gonna use the stock EFI setup? Will you have to use the EFI's gas pedal?

I'm going with twin 70's I believe. I haven't decided if I will do a mega-squirt or hp tuners on the stock ecu.

I'm not familiar with the EFI's gas pedal.

I had a benefit of not having a motor when I got it and it was already setup for a small block. Pretty easy conversion at that point. I will love to see what you do when time allows!!

If it is a 06 or newer LS you may have to use the Gas pedal from the donor car. Otherwise the ECM gets angry. I know this cuz my 6.0 was sold to me with the pedal and was told it wouldn't run without it.

So jealous. I have often dreamed of doing an LS swap. I am sure you have read the Hod Rod build that made 4.09 hp/ci ? Yes its not a longevity thing but that little motor took a beating until the ignition could not hold up. 1203hp on the stock long block with only regapped rings.

Great looking project!

Yes I have read it. I actually ordered my custom cam from the guy that wrote that article!! I won't be pushing the limits as much, but I plan on making over 700hp.

Got the timing chain cover/new seals/oil pickup/windage tray/oil pan installed. Next step waiting on ls9 gaskets and then the heads will go on.

Got my rear crossmember almost done. First time doing any fab work like this, im pretty happy with the results so far.

I got the motor cleaned up, just bought some 317 heads and got done replacing the valve springs with BTR springs, waiting on the trundle upgrade so I can bolt the heads on the motor and get the rockers/pushrods installed.

After that its time to drop the motor/trans in.

Looks like the straight six was long gone when you bought the truck. I need a front motor mount assembly if you happen to have one. Locally I have had no luck finding one.

Got some more work done, wiring, battery jumper terminals, on/off switch. The motor is in for good this time!
