I suggest you unplug the sensor at the steering pump and drive it to eliminate it as a possible cause.
great advice.

I replaced everything with MOOG aswell.

when i was running 35's i had to adjust tire pressure and the good ol chalk method worked for me...

I disconnected at the pump and have been so happy since!

If it is the twitching that is bothering you then replace the steering sensor at the bottom of the steering column{in the cab}and that should fix it.

Re: remove power assist steering on 97 Silverado?

Has anyone tried to use GM #19168825

I have unplugged my EVO wire, which helped the "bump steer" feel. But it also caused it to be over assisted. Will the GM #19168825 help with the over assisted issue?

Re: remove power assist steering on 97 Silverado?

Did anyone get this figured out?

My alignment is good. All new front end parts. Tires aired. I am having the same issue; at highway speeds it seems to have too much power assist. Wheel turns too easy. I unplugged the wheel sensor on the column under the dash and it didn't make a difference. Lost here. Might try welding a couple of brackets so I can mount 2 stabilizers? Need help!
