Pottsville Antique Tractor Festival
This is the event where I found my AD inside door handles and window cranks. It's like stepping back in time: steam powered tractors, antique sawmills, etc. Everything old timey. Swap meet, tractor pulls, vendors, displays, etc. Note the HUGE engine they fire up every day. And there's always a few Stovebolts around.

Caught a TF panel exiting the lot, and the tractor pull track. Man, those huge old steam tractors can PULL!

You only had one picture that needed to come out clear and it is all fuzzy. LOL.
Looks like a good time. Love a tractor show. My favorite part is listening to the hit an miss engines. |

The TF panel was a moving target when I shot it. I wanted to get a closer look but he was leaving.

Re: Pottsville Antique Tractor Festival
Thanks for sharing. I love those kinds of shows. Caught one last fall, a farmers and thrashers jubilee out western, PA. Last weekend was the ATCA national show at Macungie, PA and I had to pass on it for the first time in years. Oh well, it will be there next year.

Re: Pottsville Antique Tractor Festival
That looks like a fun way to spend the day.
The Ag museum about 15 miles from here puts on a big event like that every August. I usually see guys hauling old farm equipment past my place for a couple of days before it and then for a couple of days after going the other way. http://centralwaagmuseum.org/pioneer...-union-gap.asp There is also a similar event at Olmsted Place state park near Ellensberg Wa every year. We stopped at a couple of times when we went to the East West flathead reliability run when it was in Vantage. That place even has an overshot hay stacker identical to the one my grandfather used here on the farm when I was young.

Worked in Ireland for several months. This is the way the Irish have a tractor meet. Innishannon Tractor Rally June 2. 2002.

Re: Pottsville Antique Tractor Festival
I had to look up Overshot Hay Stacker. Thanks, I was wondering what that device is called. I saw those in use between Missoula and Hellena Montana up until last year. Last time I drove that road (a couple months ago) I didn't see them or the hay stacks.
