Anyone have doors that open and close smooth with the top off? I adjusted mine some when I had the top bolted on good and they were kinda stiff but opened/closed pretty smoothly (just needed a little force) but with the top off they just don't cooperate. Drivers isn't too bad but stiff, and the pass side, you have to lift it some.

I know the body tends to sag there but anyone have good luck with this situation?

do you have the door aligning pads? Just a thought

No rocker boxes will cause this. Put some on or Do some home made bracing.

I've got rocker boxes.....and there not rusted out...

Shot body mounts can also cause the sag. Put the top back on and get the doors working properly and then try some new body mounts. Or you could take the doors off too like K5Krazie!

are your hinges rusted out? my passenger door upper hinge is rusted out around trhe hinge plate and it is a mother to close sometimes

do you have a lot of rust in your lower kick panel might need to address that area if you do.

i can get my doors to work so nice with the top off, but one damn 4x trop and there all out of wack...I think with the top off you just have to mess with them

Another thought is to check out the body to frame alignment. There is a procedure in the assembly manual that addresses this and it is worth looking into.

My driver's side is a pain,but it's because the upper hinge pocket need 's help..

Where are the door aligning pads located? My doors fit funny since I took the top off too? I am working with my body man to figure this out.

the pads are right under the seats and about even with the back of the seats, two on each side. I used some thick washers and cut a slot in them (like starter shims) so I didn't have to remove the bolt, I just loosened them and slid them in....
