Getting close on the firewall, few more touchups and it will be ready to spray. Got a good coat of feather fill on it. It takes a lot of hours to smooth the firewall.

It is very smooth
Never would have thought how many hours would go into just smoothing the firewall, thank goodness I am able to do my own body work. Hoping this week I can get the color shot onto the cab and the doors rehung, at that point the wiring will begin  who here is good at wiring and mapping it out to work efficiently ?

That firewall is smooooth! That's one of those projects that I always admire but would never tackle. That's why I take the easy way out and say I like to keep them "mostly stock" appearance.

Well honestly I like the mostly stock appearance myself also but am ocd about a cluttered engine bay, I can't stand wiring and hoses everywhere and it makes it tough to keep clean. Originally I was going to leave it the way it was but the more I looked the less I liked it so to the cutting wheel I ran and ended up with this.

Yes I did the Larry delete
cut pieces and welded them shut. There is no heat or air on it I like to roll the window down, throw the wing open and feel the breeze and hear the pipes roar while I sweat my butt off

The firewall looks really nice. You should show the piles of dust so others can get an idea how much sanding you're doing. I've been there but your effort is worth it. My 40 Ford was that way, no heat or A/C. The early spring and late fall drives are a PITA when you can't see through the windshield though.

Yes there was plenty of dust from that. Two big dust pans full. But it is worth the efforts. If I need to defrost a 12v heater like you said

Well I have been plugging away at my cab the past week there was a number of places I was not satisfied with so more grinding and welding and filler work. Sunday I was able to finally shoot the interior color and also used the excess paint I had left to shoot a nice build coat on the firewall and cowl area. I have just a bit of tiuchup work on the outside sheetmetal and then I can tape it out and shoot color on the outer cab.
