1970 C10 Firewall outside air door diaphragm

Does anyone have a picture you could post showing how to connect the outside air door diaphragm on the passenger side to the outside air door. I bought a new diaphragm and new air door, but seem to be missing some parts to connect them together.....Thanks.Name: AC vacdia2.jpg

Welcome to the forum!!!

If I understand what you are looking for, maybe the photo below and the LMC catalog link will help. The air door is not visible in the photo.

There is a spring but a lot of them have rusted or fallen off. There should be a plastic bushing drilled in the firewall behind the glove box. then you can install the flap into the plenum then outside the firewall there is an oval white plastic bushing that attaches with 2 screws (See photo in last post) then the metal offset crank is attached with a set screw. This crank attaches to the vacuum pod. Once you remove the cowl vent it is very easy to change this out. I need to replace my 1970 c10 one also.

Yes, there is supposed to be a spring. It's fairly stout and, as stated above, usually M.I.A. For that reason, originals are very hard to find. Here's a picture.

Yes, FirstOwner, that is exactly what i am looking for. Based on your picture, I am missing the 90 deg. elbow that connects the vacuum pod to the door. Anybody know where I could get that piece? Doesn't appear that LMC sells it.

Can anyone tell, or provide a picture, showing what the spring is attached to?

Thanks everyone!

There is a small loop (for lack of a better description) on the cold air door where the spring attaches. The other end hooks into a hole about 1/8" in diameter on the cowl as seen in the picture I posted. The hole doesn't show up well in the pic because I zoomed way in on the original picture.

You may find someone selling the elbow on the parts for sale board.
