I'm not sure what's wrong. Help!

Hello everyone! I have a 1972 C10 with a 350 and it has electronic ignition. So here's the problem, sometimes when I go and try to start my truck, I turn the key, and it just clicks once. So I turn the key back to the normal position, and then try again, and sometimes it clicks, sometimes it turns on. Or sometimes it even turns on first try. And rarely it takes me 5 or 6 key turns to get it to finally crank. Does anyone have any idea what that could be? I tested the battery voltage out and it's at 12.7 so I don't think that's a problem. I was maybe thinking the starter, but I wasn't 100% sure. Thanks everyone!!

Could be the solenoid on the starter. That would be my guess.

First thing I'd check is the battery connections and make sure they are clean and tight. Then I'd check the connections to the starter for the same reasons. Your key tumbler may be somewhat worn out. If all that is good I'd pull the starter and get it checked out.

I would check ground at battery and work my way back... If the headlights shine and the radio plays its a ground issue. Clean the connections and done.
