69-72 tow hooks

Would anyone be willing to take a hook and trace it out on a piece of paper or construction paper for me? I'm going to take a newer set of hooks and try to reproduce the old look but I really don't have anything to go by and pictures really won't do much except for the bend. I would pay for the shipping. Thanks Jared.

Re: 69-72 tow hooks

I'll get them laid out for you tonite.
I'll do a tracing and a cutout.

Not quite sure how too replicate the slight bend besides measurements.

As far as the bend, if you can just make sure the pattern to the pointed tip matches the cutout I can look at pictures and tell how far out the bend is.

Re: 69-72 tow hooks

I traced it out last nite. And wrote notes on it explaining the bend and other things.

I was thinking of something like a mold using tape but wasn't sure how that would hold up in the mail.

Would be nice too have a accurate way too describe the thickness's a certain locations.

I'm draft artist here but, looking for ideas too help out, that's why we are here.

Re: 69-72 tow hooks

That looks great. The only way to measure it would be a set of calipers. But the width of the cut out should give me the diameter

A search here shows others that have gone down this road.

Re: 69-72 tow hooks

Yeah I read that sometime ago. With the prices of these tow hooks there's no way I'm willing to give that much so I'm going to make my own by using a newer set to start with. I know all the laws of heating, cutting of metal so these will be for looks only but would probably work fine to use anyways.

Re: 69-72 tow hooks

Calipers would be the way too blueprint them onto graph paper with each and every increment and views of each side.

But not me I failed at art class
Hard to describe until you have one in your hands I'm sure others can agree. But I think you can get dang close with this template.

Glad I didn't do a extreme bend.

If your good with this pm me a addy sometime this weekend.
I wont get to drop it in the mail until mon. And thats mlk day.
