Short answer is “No”. I guess the long answer would also be “No”. It looks like someone put in some 3/4 ton axles.

Hey Rob!

I don't blame you for asking, looks pretty good.
Probably a nice solid SB.

Bring it to Michigan, I'll buy it! :-)

I'm betting 1/2 ton truck with 3/4 axles as well...if all they did was swap the axles its still probably got 1/2 ton springs...if so it shouldn't affect the ride.....descent price on it though....I tried zooming in on the fender badge but it gets blurry before I can read it...

Re: Did they make a factory 1974 3/4 ton shortbed 4X4?

I tried to order a short bed 4wd with 8-lug axles in '77 and was asked, "What do you need such heavy axles under a short bed for?". The answer was "No", I couldn't order one like that.

Mongocanfly, the fender badge has a 20 on it.

Re: Did they make a factory 1974 3/4 ton shortbed 4X4?

This is the second one I have seen. About a year ago I asked the same thing when I found a 2wd short bed in black canyon city, after seeing the cl add I thought it was the same one, but it's not.

My 20 started out its life as a 10 as well. Its pretty incredible how interchangeable all the components are, almost everything bolts into place, i doubt it would be that easy on a brand new truck.
