Re: Papa's truck build up

Well, nevermind the 3.08... Found a new rear axle w 2.73s!! I gotta have the axles redrilled for the 6 lug and while Ive got the axle out I'll go ahead and do a 2 link setup...

U know how it goes, "I'm just gonna swap this one thing..."

Re: Papa's truck build up

And now add a 3" Z to the near future plans... Found a local guy that'll do it while I'm on vacation at the end of July.... So I've got 5 weeks to pull the front end apart.

Re: Papa's truck build up

Well, decided to just run drop spindles on the front instead of the Z. The Z plan was beginning to spiral out of control w the need for a trans hump. I'm not ready for that yet. Maybe next year but not now. I'm gonna grab the spindles in 2-3 weeks and have them installed while I'm on vaca. I'll post pix soon.

Re: Papa's truck build up

Change that plan too... Was talking w a good buddy of mine and we divided to run stepped lower arms. So, today I pulled the fronts off. Also, I'm gonna install 2" extended rear shackles to get the back down a little bit. It will be a few weeks b4 my guy can get em finished so I'll post pics when I get em back.

here is what they will look like --

Re: Papa's truck build up

Thanks. I'm having a hard time not being able to drive it while the guy does the arms... I usually buy extra parts to chop on and then just quick replace of parts and cruise same day. It's really got me itching...

Updates soon...

Re: Papa's truck build up

Got the stepped arms mounted tonight. Dropped it 1 3/4" for sure. Now my jack barely slides under the front bumper... But I hate these wheel openings bc I am still not tucking any lip... Still ab 4 3/4" clearance on the control arm to ground. I'll have pix in the am...

Re: Papa's truck build up

Ordered my CPP C-Notch today. Was going to build one but for $100 total, I'll let them do it... Shd b here in 10 days. When I install it I am going to swap the 2.73 axle in too. Maybe I'll be able to install 2" drop hangers for the springs at the same time...

Picked up the rebuilt 700r4 today. Had them install the TCI kit to make it work. Now we will see how long it will take for me to install it in the truck...
