Big Block Help

I am almost finished with my big block swap in my 72 blazer. I am having issues with the clutch linkage and trying to find headers that will clear it with minor modifications. Surely someone has done this swap with a manual trans. Any help on how to modify the Z bar or headers will be appreciated. I have done research and haven't found any solutions yet. I have looked at tons of headers but haven't found anything that would bolt right in. Thanks

Re: Big Block Help

Convert to a hydraulic clutch & delete the Z bar.

Re: Big Block Help

I'd like to but I can't drop $700 on a kit to do that.

Re: Big Block Help

I had custom headers made. Not cheap. $700 for that clutch might indeed be your cheapest route.

Re: Big Block Help

GM went to hydraulic clutch by '85 in the big block square bodies. I have an '85 C30 and '86 K30 that are both setup that way. Find a GM bellhousing and buy OEM parts for the swap. Be on you to fab up a clutch master mount and connect it to the clutch pedals.

Big block swaps in 67-72 4x4 trucks are just a PITA. More so with manual trans.
