glass for 1950 chevy P/U
I'm needing glass all around for my 50 3100. Do I save any money having a local glass shop cut it, will it fit right...or is aftermarket the way to go? The local glass shop said they would need a pattern, does anyone sell glass patterns or have them for a 50 chevy PU?

After market glass is so cheap that I doubt you'd be saving anything by having it cut by a pro. And I have no idea where you'd find a pattern...

okay thanks...next question... does all 1950 chevy p/u have vent windows or are some all window in the door. I asked this because I called an aftermarket glass company and they said that the 1950 chevy glass they had was vent window and window glass, they didn't have just solid door glass in their catalog. My truck is a rat rod and I see no hardware on the door or window frame to tell me it had a vent window in it...doesn;t mean it couldn;t have been removed by PO who used this truck as parts for his build.

1951 was the first year for the vent windows. 1947-1950 they were all the one piece windows. But like you said, they could have been easily swapped out (lots of people do that).
How about a serial number?

if you have a 1950 chevy, that doesn't have the vent windows...then yes that would be very, very helpful. I could at least get an estimate from the glass shops in town. I have paypal and can send payment whenver you need me to.

my 53 gmc has vent windows but i could get you the windshield and rear window patterns as they will be the same

Hey! Somewhere on this "magic box" I found someone who sells original glasss patterns, I just can't remember who they are. Do some Googl'n & I'll bet you can find them. I'll try & see if I can find them too. I also have a '50 (no vents) so I'm sure someone can fix you up. Thanx!
