Re: 1978 Big Ten, Big Block

I found the hat on Instagram. I believe it's custom, sorry no info.

Anyway, not much of an update, but I now have ceramic coated headers, full 3" exhaust, and Magnaflow mufflers (part no. 14419). I want the pipes to go all the way out the back and turn down, as tucked up as possible. I was looking under there and it's gonna be a tight squeeze since I brought the axle closer to the frame. It almost looks like it needs a C-notch.

Hey I've been looking for that picture of that hat!!! I forgot where I had seen it. My buddy's mom has a sewing company with some really high dollar machines. Scan the pic into the machine, and BLAMO! its on the hat, or shirt, or underpants, or whatever. I'm getting one done as soon as I get him the design and the hat.
Oh and McGaughy's has a nice notch. That the one I'm putting in my rig.

Re: 1978 Big Ten, Big Block

I actually went and looked at that truck when it came up on KSL. I decided I didn't want another 454 though. Then this one came up out in Price. I bought it 2 weeks ago and I'm going to go trailer it home this weekend. I live in Clearfield, btw. Maybe we'll pass each other on the hwy some day. lol

If you decide to make the hat, let me know how much it costs you because I want one too. Haha. And thanks for the link for the c-notch. I haven't decided what way I want to take my suspension, so i probably won't be doing that soon. I was actually thinking bagging the truck will give me the look I really want. That Porterbuilt stuff looks nice...

Check out this meme I found on the internet with my truck in it. I didn't make it but maybe one of my friends did? Nobody has taken credit yet. I thought it was funny.

Re: 1978 Big Ten, Big Block

I've installed the headers and valve covers. I also installed a new power steering pump and some new 90 degree MSD super conductor wires to clear the headers. You might be able to spot the wires in this exhaust sound vid I took a few days ago. I routed them behind the heads and under the headers.

I made a new exhaust for the truck. Stainless x-pipe and mufflers.

Great looking build so far. The hat that you pictured is from a company called Sisco's Fabrication. I have one of them myself.

I actually have a set being shipped to me next week for my 80 crew cab. I was in contact with Brandon from Sisco's yesterday and found out he had a mild heart attack 2 weeks ago and just returned to work on Thursday. I also have a hooded sweatshirt ordered from them as well with the squarebody graphic.

Re: 1978 Big Ten, Big Block

Can you show more pics of the exhaust? Maybe a side view next to the collector. What size of exhaust is that, and how did you get it to clear the cross member?

Did you get a hold of him through Facebook or through another way to order the stuff?
