65 Sub spare tire mount

Hi everyone. Just joined this club 3 days ago, and I have to say thanks to whoever has done the 60-66 Suburban section. Anyways, does anyone have the under body spare tire mount on their Sub? If so, is it the same as the pickup mounting? I have mine in the back, behind the seat near tailgate, and when the seat isn't in, I have an "L" shaped bracket the original owner made for it, but I don't like it as it leaves the tire in direct sunlight. I'll try to get some pictures of my Sub on here soon, now that it's back up and running again. It has a 283 from a '63 Biscayne, '78 TH350, tilt column, P/S and front discs from a '72 Chevy pickup. Wheels are off of an '86 Sub(traded for chrome smoothies). Thanks for any and all info. have a good weekend everyone

Yes it is the same and as long as you have the original gas tank with the big cutout in it the spare will fit fine. It's common to find these pickups and suburbans with other tanks in them, whether from another car or aftermarket.

Thanks VH. I do have the original 20.5 gal tank with the "cutout". I appreciate the answer.
