Nos parts arrived safely

I’ve been collecting nos parts for a k20 super project for quite a while now, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt for them. I have bought several of these parts from several members on this forum, with no complaints what so ever. But what happened to me yesterday left me speechless to say the least. Several members know that I’m looking for certain items and try to help whenever possible. Several months ago I get a call from a good friend/member stating he has located a couple extremely rare pieces that I’ve been searching for being sold locally in his area. This was the start of countless smiles and elevated blood pressures in the times to come. He gave me the persons telephone number and said if needed he would inspect and pick them up also. I immediately called the seller and purchased parts. Not only did he take time out of his day to drive several miles to retrieve them but also paid for them. To be completely honest these parts he could easily sold and tripled his money. He has been holding these parts for some time for me to pick up. I know that he has been worried about them being in his possession and getting damaged. Yesterday I received not only my beloved treasures but upon opening package there was a added piece I was looking for included. I have added pics of quality made package which was opened immediately and then closed for safekeeping. I thought this story deserved to be shared as it shows the true integrity of this individual. I’m truly honored to have IRONMIKE as a friend.

Nice score! I got lucky years ago on eBay with a NORS set from Golden State Pickup Parts for use in my K20.

Gunner, Appreciate the words. I've witnessed you "Pay It Forward" at least a dozen times or more on this board some pretty nice parts. I have been the recipient of a couple of those instances. Nice to be able to say Thanks in a small way. "Back at Ya". Mike.

Mike has "worked with me" a time or two. He's my kind of truck guy, more to it than just the trucks, parts, or money. Gunner, you have been generous with me. I wish I could be like that!

Hey, I'm glad to see you post. You must be busy searching foe parts. I realized I hadn't seen you around and been trying to get a chance to check up on you. Obviously I wasn't that concerned because I never did

I’ve been busy finding our fall Carlisle transportation. His and yours 3 wheelers. I found a 79 Schwinn town and country 3 speed for myself. Ran when parked just needs paint (green of course), other than that it’s what I was looking for. Yours is exactly what you was wanting except for seat. I remember you said that your legs stuck to the bigger seats when wearing your shorty shorts. Therefore as you can see for yourself I spent a couple bucks more and got you a smaller seat. It’s in the basket on mine. I figured you would want to install it yourself, plus didn’t want to listen to you *****ing about me doing it wrong. Don’t forget to bring your chaps and leathers in case it’s cold and wet like last year

Nice find on those wood grain inserts. Not sure I have ever seen NOS ones before.

I've been wanting to check in with you but my phone hand just stays too busty. Glad to know the sun's still shining on you. I must have told you about that Schwinn I wanted to buy last Fall Carlisle. I decided against because of all the (parts) room it would take up.

Nice score on the inserts. You should have said something, I would have given you my N.O.S. set. Not really feeling the whole woodgrain thing these days

I'm still up on two wheels. I finally took my black Schwinn over to the bike shop (we have a great supercool one) to see if Larry could hook me up with a gear cable, not a common design. He had the one I needed. Now to get to my 1979 pre-mountain bike creation, still in as built condition... plus 40 years. I brought this up because once again I was eyeballing the three wheelers and considering one again. Shoulda bought that one last fall... satin purple paint, ape hangers, all good to go cool!

Re: Nos parts arrived safely

Mike has also helped me. But he does not yet know the end this story.

Mike saw I missed out(2nd) on some seat belt holders/pockets.
Later he sent me a PM out of blue with a link to a green set that got listed on eBay. Of course, I thanked him and saved them but did not buy them.
So that prompted me to search eBay myself.
I found a medium blue set which I saved.

But I wanted a black set. I debated whether to buy one of the sets and PM'd Mike for his advice. He wisely recommended I buy one of the sets. That If I found a black set, I could always sell the blue set.

Mike - guess what? This week I got a black set on eBay in great condition. Arrived the other day. The seller posted a dark blue set, but said he had some other colors. Really did not think he would have a black set but he did.

THANK YOU!!!! I was going to PM you a thank you. Doing it on this post instead. You do rock, for going out of your way to help other members.

Grateful Terry

Tim I tried calling the number that you gave me which turned out to be a place that would not be suitable to take family members. Afterward started getting phone calls wanting me to join undesirable websites. Finally after changing my number life is back to normal. I still ponder could I have been tricked?

Awesome looking bikes but no place to carry parts or cooler. Looks like a setup to get someone else to carry your treasures back to your site. Not me, no sir, no way, no thanks. Now I need to figure out where to attach the not for hire sign
