C-clips won't go back in?

Hey all,

Doing a Baer brake upgrade on the rear. With the axles out I decided to swap over to Moser axles, as I needed to machine either stock or a new set to fit the rotors.

New axles measured right, fit well, but I can't seem to get the C-Clips on. Outside the car they fit the axles fine. When I try and put them in, it's like they get stuck 1/4 of the way on the axle.

Last time I reinstalled c-clips on something else they went back in as easy as they came out with a couple fingers. I'm reticent to try and tap them back in.

Any advice? Should I buy new clips and try them?

Re: C-clips won't go back in?

Have you tried having someone pushing in on the axles while you try and install the c-clips? Sometimes the axles hang up a little on the seals.

I have not. I'll see if I can wrangle someone over to do that, or even lightly tap on them with a hammer as I try and push the c-clip in.
