Post Missing options???

Any one ever heard of getting an option package, but having an option removed from the package?
Example, if you get a CST, and have the full foam seat replaced with the bouncy seat, is it really a CST being that that is required for the CST packeag? (that would have been my first Longhorn)
Also, Longhorn_Jeff_69's Longhorn...It is also a CST, and should have the cargo light...not there, never apears to have been there either.
Any ideas?

'68 wouldn't have a cargo light...'69 and up option.
I wonder if it was a mid year intro on the cargo.
How bout the '70 CST without the full foam seat?

Truck would be a '70 CST/20 Longhorn
Color is blue,
material is vinyl with the scrolling,
codes, I do not have.
I've been wondering this for years, none of the other owners ever chainged it out, I spoke to all of them except the first owner, but I did talk to his widow.

I had a orange/white 72 C20 Custom Deluxe sub that was fully optioned including the Highlander interior. The glove box option sheet had am-fm radio typed on it but before the clear plastic was applied someone on the assembly line crossed it out with a pencil and there was an am push button installed.

BTW my 69 Longhorn doesn't have a cargo light nor was one called out on the option sticker.

OK, so the CST in '69 may or may not have a cargo light...if you guys are willing, send me the last digits of your vin...the sequential numbers. Post it here, or in my e-mail...don't matter to me. I wanna try and figure if the cargo light might have gotten a late start in the CST package.

Longhorn,
Here's the answer to your question from your Detroit Chevrolet engineering connection.

I have been working in this field for the better part of 15 years.

Option delete packages are what they are called and they are used to specify a customers specific request when custom ordering a vehicle.

All of the big three did this practice until the late 80's - then they went to widening the available option packages they offered, but nothing more - no custom orders.

Unless you were a fleet buyer and wanted to order a thousand pink cadillacs for Mary Kay cosmetics (ever seen one?) or a Hertz, U-haul or Ryder fleet comptroller ordering Medium-Duty trucks, you can't get custom order vehicles anymore. But back in our time (67-72) this was common, but most folks just ordered a package.

Hope this helps

While that is true, wouldn't it be noted on the option sheet? A package minus an item?
