Engine noise
I know this isn't a GM truck, but it is GM. Around the 4:00 mark and beyond is what I believe to be valvetrain noise along with maybe some knocking? Am I off base?

Re: Engine noise
I don't like the sound of it. The valve train is pretty noisy. I wonder if it would be a solid lifter cam? When they walk around the drivers side it sounds like a pretty solid tap (knock). I would be worried but I have never had a solid lifter cam to know how loud they can be

Re: Engine noise
Doesn’t sound like a solid lifter. It wouldn’t sound so deep.
Might be fuel pump push rod or a rocker tapping the valve cover inside. On a side note, if it’s truly a Chevelle SS 396 that’s Canadian built then it would have the Z25 rpo stamped on the cowl tag. US built cars didn’t have the rpo on the tag. |

Re: Engine noise
In the video, he mentions having a retro fit roller cam/lifters/rocker setup installed--no mention of the brand.
