Ls swap donor...what's needed?

I just recently acquired an 01 2500hd with 6.0 and 4l80 tranny. What all do I need to pull off the donor truck to do the swap. Momma doesn't want this truck sitting in our driveway long(body is very rough)! Please help don't want to get rid of anything I'll need.

Re: Ls swap donor...what's needed?

Engine
Engine wiring harness
Transmission
ECM / PCM
Gas Pedal
Air Intake if your going to use the stock one
Might as well keep the fuse block under the hood
Overflow tank
Mechanical fan if your going to run that

On my swap I'm trying to make it look 100% stock under the hood. Other people have done custom air intakes and electric fans.

Also is the truck going to be 4wd or 2wd in the end?

Good luck,
Nick

Re: Ls swap donor...what's needed?

If you really want to get everything you can off it it then add throttle cable, cruise control box and cable, rear view mirror and temp sensor/wiring, I used a bunch of the exhaust piping to build my exhaust as well. 7pin trailer wiring, hitch may be able to be used. Saw a post here where someone used the rear brake calipers with a custom bracket. Apparently door molding can be used. Some have used the front bench seat or buckets.

I also used the cats but my donors were low mile. The lead offs might be nice at least to get the exaughst started.
