What's This Hole For?

I've got a 1978 K5 Blazer with the Cheyenne package, there is a hole in the firewall almost directly in line with the transmission dipstick tube. It appears to be a factory hole with no grommet or plug. What's it for?

AC truck or Non-AC truck?
I also have a 78 K5 that came with factory AC.
I can check to see what's there on mine....

It is a non-AC truck, and I lied, it does have a grommet and the interior firewall cover has a hole in it to expose the grommet.
