OG gauges with 90ohm sender

Found this while cruzin the web. Have any of you done this on a s10 or other?

This will work. The gauge will be slightly off at middle ranges but you probably won't even notice it. You don't have to solder the resistor at the sender. You can attach it at the instrument cluster or as part of the harness. That way if you need a replacement sender you can use a stock one without modifications.

Do you replace the wire with the resistor just splicing it in anywhere?

no, that would be putting the resistor in series, and would not work.

The resistor must "Tee" off the sender wire and connect to ground. When done correctly there will be two connections t make:
