Re: 60-66 Seats...post pics!!!

All of these late model GM seats are pretty much the same for mounting. They are not a direct bolt in with the holes but a little fabrication work and 8 bolts and it is done. I used these seats because of the shoulder straps and my wife and kids ride in it so wanted to be safe.

Re: 60-66 Seats...post pics!!!

Has anyone swapped the late model (approx 2000 and up) split bench seats w/ the center drop-down console into a 60-66 WITH a manual transmission? I was thinking of doing this for my truck, but want to keep the manual behind a LS engine most likely, and think that I may have to go with the late-model buckets without a center console.

I bought a pair of these seats in leather, power everything for my C-10 and was heartbroken when I found that, being 6'2"", I couldn't use them account of the restricted legroom situation they create even with the gas tank removed.

My 60 has the seat out of a 90 Lincoln Town car. ($35 at the scrap yard). Took out all the electric motors and made my own mounts.

Re: 60-66 Seats...post pics!!!

probably a really dumb question...but will a 69 GMC pickup seat bolt into the stock locations on a 66? I'm gonna get the seat anyways since it's $20 and in so-so shape. It'll need to be recovered and possibly new foam, but I'm trying to stay with the old school style bench

I'm pretty sure it will, I haven't tried, but several people have told me the 67-72 seats will fit in the original location.

Sweet, thanks for the reply. I had only found 1 or 2 posts indicating that someone had installed a 67-72 seat in a 60-66 but they didn't say if they bolted into the stock holes. I do vaguely recall a post by someone saying that the 67-72 seats are slightly wider than the originals.

That said I've been mulling over if I want to go with a more modern seat with a built in 3pt after trolling through all of the seat swap threads. Some of those seats look damn good...and the arm rest/storage is nice to have...

If your looking for more of "period correct" look these low back buckets fit that vibe, IMHO.

I built custom brackets for them that also incorporate seat belt brackets. The seats come with 3 adjustable height positions, include the adjustment track, they recline and they have a map pocket in the back.

More information can be found on my build thread.

I hope this helps.
I really like those seats.
They look so close to the buddy buckets I had in my 65.

Re: Show us you're seats

Here's mine...just a plain ole original seat. No rips or tears though. I couldn't tell if it was recovered or what but looks almost new. Hard to tell from this iPhone pic.

The blonde with a binky is aftermarket though...
