stereos

im going to get a custom sony xplod stereo put in my truck but done want to cut the dash. i want to put it in the glovebox. how do you mount it in the glovebox? anybody made a custom glovebox not made out of cardboard?

just cut it dude thats what i did the had to weld some small parts in place to make it look flush,turned out pertty good.hey by the way you still lookin for a bed i tore the bed sides of the one i had would sell em cheap takin up precious garage room...Steve

I think you have 3 options here:

1. Slice the dash
2. Suspend the CD player below the dash. It won't look that great, but it will be within reach, and you wont have to cut the dash. Trying to reach in the glovebox everytime you want to change CD's would be a pain unless you get a CD changer hooked up.
3. I have seen some trucks with a wooden panel inside the glovebox which they mounted their CD players in. It works OK, but it takes up your glovebox space. It might be bearable if you get a remote controlled CD player, but i dunno if the remote will be able to go through the glovebox door.

I put a Sony CD player im my dash, and thankfully it was already sliced before i got it. Works and looks great
