Can someone please show me there set up for front stock bumper winch plate. I want to fab one but am running short on ideas on how to go about it. Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to modify one. I've seen plates as removable on a front hitch receiver, and ones bolted to channel iron coming through slots in the bumper that are attached to the horns. You can mount the winch a little lower and behind the bumper and cut in a hawsehole. Most guys just make a bumper for the winch.

I recently picked up a Hickey worm gear winch. The way these were mounted was very low and behind the bumper. They used a skid plate to protect it since it hung down so low. Guess that's why they developed the sidewinder. But you still have to cut in a hawsehole.

I think it is best to splint off of the frame horns as much as possible with channel iron for strength and to not give the winch undue leverage on your frame. I think you will need to cut for some channel iron to splint onto your frame.

I don't think you can do a plate properly without cutting the bumper somehow. If that's what you are trying to avoid.

Here's a pick of a mounted Hickey. Hangs too low for my liking.

That's the style I wasn't behind the bumper. So im thinking of building a cradle like the one above. Time to hit the drawing board.

Well today is my day off. Im hitting the garage and seeing what I can make happen. I just hate to cut a fairlead hole in my shiny new bumper. Tear. Lol.

I have the original bumper on my truck. I will not cut it. If I do decide to do a behind the bumper I will get a different bumper to cut.

I will be mounting my winch first. I have some channel iron for frame extensions. I will mount my winch they design the bumper around the winch where ever it most comfortably lands.

Post some pics on your progress.
