Engine compartment light issue

Ive installed a new bulb. I can't get the light to work. Is there a switch somewhere? The manual doesn't even mention a engine compartment light and nothing shown in the fuse panel.

It's a 1999 c1500 2wd suburban. Thanks guys.

Re: Engine compartment light issue

Look at these pictures below. I don't see a switch or mercury or whatever controls it.

Thanks guys.

Re: Engine compartment light issue

You should have 12 volt on the orange wire to the lamp house. there is a inline merucry switch that compleats the power to the bulb when the hood is in the open position. The lamp house power wire may have a poor connection where the factory has it solder to the merury switch. When the work they work good when they dont i find it best to drill the rivets and head to the work bench.
