g80 info

I am looking for a little education on the g80 (positraction) option on my 2006 2wd 1500 Silverado. An internet search resulting in this being called a positraction, but its not what us old timers called a posi. The owners manual refers to a "locking rear axle". Now that we've had a big snow, I'd like to know how it works and more importantly, how to drive in low traction conditions. TIA

Re: g80 info

There's a youtube video that explains how it works. It's a locker under 20 mph and a clutch limited slip over 20 mph

Wow, that is one complicated device. Is there a loud clunk when the low speed lock engages? Also is there any driving technique when driving on a slippery surface with this locker? I'm guessing low throttle but don't back off the gas letting the unit disengage.
