4L60E whine - converter or pump?
'98 K1500, TCCC converter and a PWM pump in the trans. This is a rebuilt unit I installed, with an O'Reillys TC. In the first ~40 mi. of driving the trans. performs fine, but this noise persists. Quiet in park and neutral, in R/D/3/2/1 the noise is roughly engine-speed based and gets louder under load. Coasting the noise is basically non-existent, and it also goes away once the converter locks up. Did I get a bum converter?

Re: 4L60E whine - converter or pump?
My guess is pump, but I am definitely no expert. I am still OK with the old T350/400s, but leave the newer stuff to my transmission shop.
