56 3600 SBC/4WD Trans Question

Hey guys,

I have a 383 stroker I built from a 73 vette's 350. I am going to do a 4WD conversion on my truck and I already have an np205 transfer case. I will most likely be running Dana 44 in the front and corporate 12 in the rear. 383 will be putting out about 400 hp and 450 ft lbs of torque.

I am looking for a 5-speed manual w/ overdrive. I heard good things about the NV4500 and I know it hooks up with the SBC and np205, but I also believe it is a low-geared slow-shifting truck tranny? Mainly this truck is going to be powerful, the 4WD conversion is only for snowy winters. I need the overdrive for 3 hours of daily highway/country road commuting and I would like a sportier transmission. I was looking for more of something like the Tremec TKO, but I don't believe it will work with the np205.

Any ideas?
