Part code seemed to be sb. But I will make sure again everything is in place. But think it may be a LB cable.

Fired the engine for the first time after the rebuild yesterday and today finished everything up by putting the new valve covers and air cleaner on. Now on to pass. fender cup repair and re installing the fenders. Cruisin' season's coming up and I'm way behind.

In looking at your pics the cable should be running through the outer hole on the cross member, the one with the plastic gromit in it , then up to the curled wire hanger in the frame and then to the back down the other side the same ending at the other bracket that connects the two rear cables. That routing may shorten the cable enough. Hope this helps.

I ordered some LED headlights on Monday & they arrived today. I was able to get one of them installed. Rusty screws held the other 3 up. Lol.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Decided to tackle the rusty fender up today. I tried a different way to make the repop cup fit by lining up the wheel opening side then using a spot weld cutter I removed the piece on the rear of the cup and made relief cuts to "stretch" the front of the cup. More pics to follow

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I had to make one relief cut on the front of the cup to move it over and add a small piece of filler to the gap. Every thing lined up and time to start tack welding.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

By using this method I eliminated weld seams where they would show. I replaced the rear piece previously removed and finished up by grinding the welds, slinging on some filler, blocking and shooting primer. Tomorrow I'll wet sand the primer and rattle can some color to finish up the repair.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

today I installed new carpet , new retrosound laguna radio, and my $20 swap meet seat. also put a set of undercover 2 speakers. retrosound doesn't tell you assembly is required and instructions are not model specific. after many adjustments I finally got it in and I am pleased with the sound. I removed my factory bucket seats for my other project.

Sanded the primer on the fender cup and shot some Dupli Color on it. Doesn't match but it's down low and doesn't look too bad. After all she's a beater driver! Oh, and I got the left fender hung too.

I spent yesterday driving mine to get & return parts for my '02. That's the most driving I've done in it since the day I bought it.

Did you add some fade to the paint? I used to tell customers that I'm not able to match the old paint because they don't make "fade" to age it.

I am working on that concoction. It takes years of research, driving in the rain, long days in the sun. Opp, better check the oil!

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I didn't do it, but I paid to have it done. I had a new windshield installed while I worked. My daughter had her '11 impala done at the same time.
