Question Canadian blazer vin???

I just bought a 2wd blazer yesterday and im having trouble with the vin, the vin reads CE1845640260 I can decode CE18 and after that I cant get any farther. my registration says its a 1971 blazer 4x4. anyone else is Canada with a 2wd that registers as a 4x4?

Re: Canadian blazer vin???

The VIN and your description both define it as a 2wd. The folks at the DMV are not hardcore experts and can make mistakes when applying a noun name to register the vehicle. If you feel strongly I suggest you take it back and get it fixed; otherwise if the VIN on the title matches the vehicle I wouldn't worry about it.

Also - I think the "5" might actually be an "S" for St Louis (the 7th digit from the right end is the plant code. There is no 5).

Re: Canadian blazer vin???

thanks keith, that's one of the things that was throwing me off was there was no letter in there for the plant it was built at. I don't know if this blazer is originally from Canada but the story I got was it was purchased new by the ne person and passed through the family until the guy I bought it from purchased it

I will have to check the spid when I get it home and see if I can get the title straightened out so it reads properly

Don't forget to share pictures! I see you aren't very far from me. I live in Williston, ND. Did you find it locally?
