rear coil spring suspension
I've lowered a lot of s-10's over the years. All static drops with lowered leafs and blocks.
Typically the bigger the block, the crappier the ride - does the same hold true with the coil spring rear end? |

no, i had 3 in block on mine for years , doesnt feel like they even there
but 2 in block is the biggest u can buy because of clearance issues on 15 in wheels Posted via Mobile Device

I have 4" drop coils on my 72 C-10 LWB and it rides excellent...I even haul my 600lb KZ-1000 around on it and only hits the stops on unseen speed bumps or rough bridge abutments at speed...No C-Notches...

It wasnt your blocks that gave you a crappy ride, it was the soft springs. Lowering blocks dont have a negative impact on your ride. Lowering springs that are too soft are the culprit.

I always went new after lowering my first with a bad experience using used equipment and cut coils. Anytime I just changed to lower leafs, I felt it rode and handled fine. Adding blocks seemed to stiffen everything and while it still handled well, it rode like crap. I felt every little bump. Of course, much of the ride quality depended on how low I went. A 1" block and 2" lowered leaf rode like a dream compared to a 2" lowered leaf and a 3" block. |
