my trans is a 4 speed with the granny gear.

holes do not line up on 73 k5 frame

what is the right trans mount for the frame?

should i mount above or below the frame. have a 4 inch lift.

Re: trans mount

I believe that the 73 should have the flat crossmember and the double hump is for the aluminum transfer case applications? Anyways, here is the mount in my 76' 4 speed/205.

Re: trans mount

I think you can use it on the older frame. One thing I noticed with the double hump vs. flat x-member is height/clearance. When I converted my burb to a manual I had to swap out the x-member. It originally had the double hump, but the t-case adapter was different so I had to find the flat crossmember because the t-case woulde've hit the floor. It looks like you have the "short" t-case adapter so the double hump crossmember will be needed. Probably the best thing to do would be to measure the width of your frame and compare it to the width of the crossmember.

Re: trans mount

Would you recommend lowering my trans mount because of the 4" lift?

Re: trans mount

no dont lower your drivetrain like that. use the correct adapter and crossmember. drill out that bolt broken off and drill new holes in the frame to bolt the W crossmember.

there is a 465/208 adapter that uses the flat crossmember. the short adapters you have started in 85. find an older adapter o use the flat crossmember.

and it goes below the rails. one tons with the 8" thick frame get mounted inside the rails.

IMO I wouldn't. I've seen others do it to help with the rear drive shaft angle, but it totally messes up the front drive shaft/cv joint angle on the t-case. I've got a 4" lift on my 85 suburban and I didn't have to lower the t-case.
