1959 GMC : Sierra 1500 4x4 question

where is best place to get parts for this truck, lmc has 59 chevy catalogs, cant i just use most of those parts? but mine is a 4x4 and is missing the front axle, thinking of changing the 4 wheel drive set up to 2 wheel drive, this will be my first over hauling, any comments welcome as to what i should do about this truck, thanks.

First off Welcome and Congrates on your new truck. A friend of mine put a bid in on that same truck.

I have found new parts from these sources.

To answer your question many parts will be a direct interchange with a Chevy of the same series. The GMC specific parts are a little harder to find new, I get most of mine (used) on this board , oldgmctrucks.com or eBay. Your best bet on suspension parts IMHO is to find them used though.
If you have any more specific questions just ask.

Also just as a side note, your truck is neither a 1500 or Sierra series it is a 100 series GMC the same as my half ton. I don't know why they listed it like that on eBay. There was no such series in the Blue Chip GMCs.

Where in the south? I have all of the stuff you would need to convert to 2 wheel drive, suspension wise and also to install later model 4 wheel axles.
Pm me.......
